Content Top (Above sidebar) Title International Dentist Pathway Admissions Main Content (next to sidebar) Content Thank you for your interest in the 3 year International Dentist Pathway (IDP) at UCSF School of Dentistry. Please use this website as a resource to gather information regarding the requirements, the application process, and our technical standards. Admissions Standards To be considered for admission, you must present evidence that you have completed a dental degree from a foreign institution. Passing the National Board Dental Exam Part 1 and 2 or the Integrated National Board Dental Exam is not required but highly recommended. Due to the large number of applicants in our pool, we are not able to offer application counseling. We suggest you seek advice from a counselor or pre-health advisor at your previous institution and visit the ADEA CAAPID website for additional information and resources. Minimum Requirements The School of Dentistry has no minimum GPA admissions requirements. Candidates are encouraged to explore our class information to get a sense of the profile of successful applicants. The UCSF Dentistry Admissions Committee employs a holistic review in selecting the incoming class, and thoroughly evaluates a candidate’s academic preparedness, community engagement, and fit for the institution. All applicants who submit a complete application will be fully evaluated for admission. Evaluation of Applicants, Interviews and Final Decision Completed applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee, those selected to move forward in the process, will be invited for an interview. Interviews typically take place in August/September. The School of Dentistry takes a holistic approach to our admissions process. Our Admissions Committee considers all aspects of the application, including academic background and ability, motivation for a dental career, and the potential for future success in the program and dentistry indicated by past achievements and present commitments.
