Periodontics Clinic
UCSF’s Periodontics Clinic provides comprehensive care for the gums, bone, and other supporting structures of the teeth for both children and adults. Care is provided by School of Dentistry faculty and resident teams and includes preventive treatment for gum disease, as well as advanced periodontal and implant services such as hard- and soft-tissue grafting, guided regenerative procedures, bone grafting, sinus lift and sinus grafting procedures, root coverage and other soft-tissue grafting treatments, esthetic crown lengthening, dental implants, and sedation support when appropriate. Implant treatment may include implants that support individual crowns, bridges, and full or partial dentures.

Periodontic Gum Treatment
Periodontic Gum Treatment focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions affecting the gums and the supporting structures around the teeth, including bone and connective tissue. Treatment may range from nonsurgical care, such as deep cleanings and periodontal maintenance, to advanced surgical procedures when needed. These services can include gum grafting, bone grafting, regenerative procedures, crown lengthening, and dental implants. Periodontal care is designed to control infection, restore oral health, and protect the long-term stability of the teeth and gums. The overall goal is to improve function, comfort, and appearance while helping patients maintain a healthy smile.

The Periodontics Clinic sees patients at UCSF’s Parnassus campus, which is easily accessible by public transit, car, and UCSF shuttles.

Parking
Limited paid public parking is available behind the clinic, accessed via 50 Kirkham Street. Use the self-serve kiosk before entering the building.
Patients and visitors using this lot should enter and exit through the back entrance, located beneath the awning on the south side of the building, which is accessed from Kirkham Street. The front entrance remains open for pedestrian access.
Additional paid public parking is available at the Millberry Union Garage, with entrances located at 500 Parnassus Avenue and on Irving Street, just east of Third Avenue.
Transit
Muni bus lines 6 Hayes-Parnassus and 43 Masonic stop at 707 Parnassus Ave. The N-Judah light-rail line stops on Irving Street at the Millberry Union Garage; take the elevator up to Parnassus Avenue.

Payment and insurance options
Different clinics work with different insurance plans, and participation may change over time. Please be sure to ask our staff about insurance options when scheduling your appointment.
- Insurance: We accept Delta Dental Premier and Delta PPO. Please bring your benefit card or insurance plan information to your appointment.
- Direct Payment: Patients may pay with cash, check, or credit card for Dental Center services.
- Denti-Cal: This clinic accepts Denti-Cal.
Meet our providers
Work at the Periodontics Clinic is done by UCSF residents, who are all practicing dentists pursuing their post-doctoral degrees. UCSF Periodontics faculty oversee all procedures.
